Alinari images in Europeana: ancient works in Naples.

An interesting selection of images from the Alinari photographic collection is about the old artisan works in Naples, Italy: the maccheroni factory, the sales of the milk directly from the cow which get milked in the street, the writer that write the letters for the illiterate, the water dipper, the fisherman in the harbor, the salesman of oysters in Santa Lucia (Italy), the skater. The photographers that have captured the people on the streets of Naples show people busy on their occupations. Every photo is presented in a very artistic way in order to characterized the local momentum of the Naples lifestyle. The photos from the last period of 1800 are supplied from the original vintage glass plate negatives and original albumen prints preserved at the Alinari Archives, in Firenze. Among those images, a stereoscopic view, very popular at that time.
