A travel to India in early XX century is the subject of the photo exhibition "L'India dell'Impero Britannico - Il subcontinente nelle immagini della Società Geografica Italiana", held from 18 May to 28 June 2013 in Milan (Italy).

This exposition is the last round of the "History & Photography" project, edited by the EFF&CI Facciamo Cose association, whose aims are telling  the world history through the images and make available photo archives that are not known to the wide public.

The exhibition features 54 digital reproductions of original prints preserved by the Società Geografica Italiana: studio portraits, city and country shots, photos of architecture, photographic documentation of explorations or scientific missions.

This images will be made available in digital form in Europeana thanks to the EuropeanaPhotography project.
