An all-round presentation between Promoter, Alinari Foundation and ICCU has attracted the attention of the audience at the 2013 edition of EVA Florence. The event, which was held in Florence on 15 and 16 May, has involved a large number of professionals worker in the innovation area for cultural heritage.

Valentina Bachi (Promoter) presented the whole project and highlighted the added value that it represents for the Europeana portal, through the acquisition of approximately 430,000 photographs which cover a time span ranging from the birth of photography (1839) until the outbreak of the second world War (1939). Moreover, she also pointed out that it is one of the first examples of collaboration between public and private institutions in the context of digitization of European cultural heritage.

Andrea De Polo (Alinari Foundation), showed the procedures and the objectives pursued by content providers during the project.

Finally, Antonio David Madonna (ICCU) presented a case study of collaboration between private and institutional representatives – i.e. Società Geografica Italiana and ICCU - that opens up new scenarios for future developments of Europeana.
